The course broadly covers the following topics.

  • Introduction to pipeline hydraulics for single phase and multiphase flows and for fluids with various characteristics

  • Pipeline design codes

  • Selection of design pressure and temperature conditions for pipelines

  • Multi-phase flow patterns

  • Energy considerations

  • Pipe selection and thickness calculation

  • Pumps and Compressors

  • Estimation of surge pressure

  • Pipeline pigging, pig launcher and receiver

  • Sizing of control valves, restriction orifice plates, pressure relief devices

  • Pipeline safeguarding

  • Pipeline corrosion and control

  • Introduction to Software for pipeline distribution network

Duration:

  • Full time batch: 15 Working days
    10 a.m. to  5:30 p.m.

Joining schedule: One can join at any mutually convenient time. Batches in this course are scheduled to start from the 5th of July 2010 and from the 2nd of August 2010.

Who can join? Degree or Diploma holders in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Engineers from other disciplines who have spent quite some time in Pipelines Engineering can also take this course.

Course fee: Fee for Indian students is Rs. 49,500. Please mention in the Online Registration/Enquiry Form for additional fees for training in software. Enrolments confirmed 15 days prior to the course commencement date would be eligible for getting a concession in the fees of Rs. 5,000.
