Cheap Alternative to Fuel from Non-edible
and Edible Oils
Atharva ProcTek has also developed a process
that converts all types of edible and non-edible vegetable
oils into fuel. The running cost of process is very low and it
can therefore offer a very good alternative to the
conventional biodiesel process.
The fuel obtained from
the Atharva ProcTek process is different from that from the
conventional trans-esterification process used for production
of biodiesel; but has energy value at par with most of the
conventional fuels. Atharva ProcTek therefore offers a very
cheap renewable fuel alternative.
The plant for
producing fuel from edible and non edible oils is even more
compact that that for FuelPlast™.
Amongst the
non-edible oils that we have tested in our set-up are jatropha
(wild castor oil), karanja (Pongamia Glabra tree – popularly
called Pongam tree), and crude palm oil. Needless to say, this
process can be used for spent or for off-spec edible oils too.
We have successfully tested all types of edible oils including
coconut oil. |
